Chase Bank suggests that people can still purchase a home by following steps such as improving credit, picking a location to help budget, and saving for a down payment. To improve credit, it is recommended to pay bills on time, pay off past bills, and not apply for new credit when getting close to closing on a house. It can take at least six months to improve credit.
